Holiday Activities and Food (HAF)

The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, is returning once again this summer to provide enriching activities as well as delicious and nutritious food. HAF activities are available for children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals. This summer we are also able to extend this offer to any child who may benefit from attending the programme, through our grant funded Holiday Activities Programme (HAP).

When can I get involved?

From 12pm on 17 June, families will be able to view activities that will be on offer this summer in their district to start planning their summer fun.

Activities will be marked HAF, HAP, or both.

From 12pm on 1 July, families will be able to book activities using our Children Activities Booking System (CABS). Activities will be available throughout the summer holiday period.

Accessibility and Inclusion

All our HAF activity providers have been working hard to make activities accessible. This year, each provider has their own ‘All About Us’ which you can find on the activity booking description. This includes more information about the provider, venue, activity and staffing, should you require any further information prior to booking. In addition to this, there is also an opportunity for your child to share ‘All About Me’; an online form where you will be able to put in more information about your child and any additional needs that may need to be met on the day, so that the provider can ensure your child’s needs are met.

HAF Awards

The HAF team is proud to work with dedicated and diverse providers who work hard to make HAF such a success. We want to celebrate them alongside families at our HAF Festival that’s taking place at The King’s School in Gloucester on 22 August.

This summer, families are invited to nominate a HAF provider they feel has gone ‘above and beyond’ to make their child’s experience special. Families will be able to submit their nominations online by visiting our website at www.Gloucestershire.gov.uk/haf from 12pm on 10 June until nominations close at 12pm on 8 August.

Award winners will be announced on 22 August at the HAF Festival Families who nominated will be given the opportunity to present the awards to their nominated provider, should they be successful in winning.
