- March 2011 – Headteacher met with various academy heads to discuss the benefits and risks
- 20/4/11 – Preliminary discussions with Leadership Group and Danny Haines (Chair of Governors) on feasibility
- 10/5/11 – Governing Body meeting and FAQ and further info given out
- 12/5/11 – Staff consultation begins
- 17/5/11 – EGM – full Governing Body agreement
- 20/5/11 – Letter to parents/carers outlining intention. All unions contacted
- 23/5/11 – Staff Q&A forum and all stakeholders contacted by letter. FAQ posted on website
- 6/6/11 – Parents forum Q&A
- 8/6/11 – Application submitted to DfE
- 28/7/11 – Final sign off of application funding agreement and issues ordered by DfE to change status to academy
