The details of the trip this year are as follows:
As part of timetable suspension week, the Modern Languages and History Departments will be taking Year 7 students on a residential trip to France. The group will stay in Château du Molay, Le Molay-Littry, Normandy. We will depart from school on Wednesday 4 July and return on Saturday 7 July 2018.
The visit will include a trip to the Bayeux Tapestry, Bayeux Cemetery, 360° Cinema and D-Day Museum in Arromanches, American Cemetery and Memorial, Honfleur town, a market, a hypermarket, as well as an opportunity to sample snails and frogs legs! As a school, we believe that such a visit will benefit the students not only socially, as an experience and preparation for life generally, but also as a boost to their learning of French at a time when language skills are increasingly important and as a means to develop their knowledge of historical events.
The overall cost of the trip will be £300, which includes travel by coach and shuttle/ferry, hotel accommodation, meals, group passport, all excursions and insurance. All visits are insured through the school Insurance Policy and a copy is held on the school site. Over the past few years, a large number of students have taken advantage of this valuable opportunity. We would stress that we do not want to put any student or family under financial pressure. If you wish to discuss any particular difficulties please put it in writing to Stephen Brady. Every conceivable care will be taken to ensure that any subsidies agreed will remain entirely confidential.
To make payments easier for families we have agreed on the following payment schedule with our travel company, we respectfully ask that you make these payments on or before these deadlines. Should you not be able to meet any of these deadlines, please call the school as soon as possible and speak to either Miss Thomas, Miss Adams or our Finance Office to see if we can help.
Payments can be made by cash, cheque or on-line.

Please note that places on trips are dependent on appropriate behaviour, attendance and other factors deemed appropriate by the school. Places can be revoked at any time. Where this happens, a member of the Leadership Group will always be part of the decision making.
If you have any questions about the trip, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Thomas or Miss Adams.
