Catering and Free School Meals

Welcome to the Catering Section of the website...

Dene Magna takes considerable pride in the quality and variety of its food offerings, emphasising the pastoral and social benefits of eating together as a community.

Catering is provided by the in-house team, led by the Catering Manager, who is available to answer any questions or discuss any particular requirements - cateringenquires@fodt.co.uk

Opening hours:

8:00 am, 11–10 am & 12.35 pm.

In the dining hall, delicious, healthy and balanced meals are freshly prepared along with a range of 'street food', 'food to go' and an extensive selection of salads, sandwiches and wraps. Chilled drinks are also available alongside free water dispensers where students may refill their water bottles. A snack shack also provides an alternative service at lunchtime from the playground/yard area.

School meals are paid for via a cashless system: all students 'pay' via a fingerprint impression that links to their individual accounts. Money must be added to your child's catering account using our online system, Scopay. Please ensure there are sufficient funds available before your child makes any purchases, taking into account the transaction/banking time for these balances to show (money will not show immediately).

Please click here to view details of setting up your child's scopay account.

For Free School Meals what will my child receive as an entitlement?

They can choose a hot or cold meal to the value of the current allowance set by the Trust. This cannot be desserts or drinks alone, although these can be included when accompanying a main food item within the value stated. This allows the student to have an informed choice with regards to a healthy, balanced meal. This entitlement can only be taken at lunchtime. All other snacks/drinks at any other time must be paid for from money held on a school catering account (Scopay).
